Located in the heart of East Wenatchee, Larry's Drive In is a standout fast food restaurant specializing in hearty American comfort food with a focus on hand-prepared chicken and classic burgers. This local gem on 120 Rock Island Rd has earned a loyal following thanks to its fresh, hand-cut, and hand-breaded chicken offerings that elevate the fast food experience beyond the usual fare.
When you step into Larry’s Drive In, you’re greeted by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly suits casual dining or a quick, satisfying meal on the go. Whether it’s the irresistible aroma of crispy fried chicken or the sizzle of freshly grilled burger patties, the sensory experience here promises both comfort and indulgence.
The menu is impressively diverse for a fast food spot, with highlights that showcase stellar craftsmanship and flavor. The Larry's Famous Chicken is a must-try—the chicken strips and baskets come in generous portions, perfectly golden and crunchy, with juicy white meat that tastes just as good as it looks. The 3-piece chicken and fries combo ($11.95) offers a perfectly balanced meal, while the 5-piece and up options make it ideal for sharing or hungry appetites. Sauces like ranch, hot mustard, and buffalo add exciting layers of tangy, spicy, and creamy notes that complement the chicken perfectly.
For burger enthusiasts, the Panther Burger features three 1/3 pound patties stacked to deliver a satisfying and meaty experience. The bacon cheeseburger is another crowd favorite, balancing smoky, cheesy, and savory flavors atop a sturdy, albeit occasionally firm, bun—as one customer noted, the bun can be a little hard but is easily overshadowed by the overall taste. For a delightful twist, chicken and waffles offers a savory-sweet combination that transports you beyond typical fast food boundaries.
Fries lovers are well catered for too—choose from small or large fries, tater tots, or even loaded chili fries that pack a bold, spicy punch. Don’t overlook the small or large onion rings, which are crisp and flavorful, providing a satisfying crunch alongside your main meal.
Beyond fried favorites, Larry’s serves fresh salads like the chef salad and house salad, alongside classic sides such as potato salad and coleslaw for those seeking lighter fare or a refreshing complement. Additional offerings like garlic bread and a comforting bowl of chili round out the menu, making it suitable for various tastes and cravings.
Customer reviews reveal a general appreciation for tasty, freshly made food served with a smile. Yola Heer commended the good portions and friendly service, noting a warm holiday spirit that adds charm to the dining experience. Some visitors, like Angel A.R., highlight the well-executed burgers and prefer the way fries are served unsalted, allowing for personal seasoning—an indicator of Larry’s attention to individual preferences. Although a few patrons mentioned the price point and occasional wait times, many still find the quality and flavors well worth it.
In essence, Larry's Drive In blends familiar fast food favorites with homemade care and quality ingredients. Whether you’re craving crispy white meat chicken, a towering multi-patty burger, or a plate of perfectly battered fries, this local staple delivers a satisfying meal with friendly service that keeps customers coming back. For those seeking comfort food with a handcrafted touch in East Wenatchee, Larry’s Drive In is a delicious destination that truly stands apart.
Delicious as usual, and the service was good, I was happy with the portions for the price!! Thanks for the service with a smile! Happy Holidays
Food was yummy and hot. Unfortunately we were missing a fry and didn’t notice so that was the downside. Wait time was also 15 minutes longer than expected. Good stop on a Friday night
I would say this place is too pricey. The single patty cheeseburger is $10. I would pay $5-6 at in n out or any other similar chain. It was good but I’d had similar at cheaper. The waitress was sweet, so service was good.
I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries and a drink. Ironically I should have ordered some chicken, but that’s for next time. The burger was good, what you’d expect from any competing burger joint in Wenatchee. The bun was a little hard but that’s the only downside. The fries were not salted but they did provide salt packets which I prefer as I’d rather have unsalted fries then over salty fries. The fries were overall pretty good with a nice crunch on the outside and soft interior. The overall wait time when half of the parking spots were taken was about 5-10 minutes which isn’t bad at all. The gentleman that took my order immediately came out as soon as I came out and was respectful. Would surely recommend Larry’s instead of franchised fast food.
